Orange Fruit and Blue Hills We stayed at a large old house in Healesville overlooking the blue hills, a bowl of glossy persimmons was ripening on top of the piano. I moved them to the table where the orange mound of fruit reflected the hills, and painted them in lush gouache on rough paper.
Autumn Canvas Leaves fell from the ornamental maples in Autumn. They needed nothing more than a warm mixture of red, brown and orange gouache on smooth paper to make a birthday card.
Sunflower Sarong Every girl needs a sarong painted with sunflowers for Christmas. Later I grew huge real sunflowers in the same place.
Head Sculpture My first stone sculpture. A head carved from a block of limestone salvaged from an adjoining property development.
