Here is an example of one of our Plain English contracts which can be modified according to the type of services required.

Service Contract Agreement

Period

This Service Contract Agreement ("Agreement") is for the period DD Month YYYY to DD Month YYYY to a maximum of 40 hours per week.

Services

The Supplier will supply technical writing and illustration services ("Services") to the Company as directed.

Rate

The Supplier will provide the Services at a rate of $NN per hour. This rate includes all taxes payable in respect of the Services, including GST. Workers compensation and superannuation are the responsibility of the Supplier.

Location

Services will be performed at the Supplier's own premises or other locations mutually agreed upon.

Responsibility

The Supplier will primarily be responsible to Mr B Bigman of BigCo Pty Ltd.

Equipment

Services will be performed using the Supplier's own equipment. The Supplier warrants the equipment is in good order and free of viruses.

Timekeeping

The Supplier will submit to the Company weekly timesheets detailing the number of hours worked and a summary of the work performed.

Invoicing

The Supplier will submit to the Company monthly Tax Invoices listing the total hours worked and amount payable.

Payment

The Company will pay the Supplier for each Tax Invoice within 14 days by cheque.

Expenses

Expenses for anything other than the Services, such as travel, accommodation, printing and other costs, may be paid at the discretion of the Company if previously agreed to in writing.

Confidentiality

The Supplier will not disclose any information confidential to the Company or its clients during or after the Agreement.

Competition

The Supplier will not provide services to any other party in direct competition to the Company during the period of the Agreement.

Cancellation

Either party may terminate this Agreement by giving 10 days written notice.
