Graham Dowden is the director of Skybrook Technical Writing.

As a technical writer he has had the privilege of reading 100,000 lines of C++ without writing one, and writing 100,000 lines of HTML using vi. He remembers the days when 2M was a large hard disk and a VT-100 was a real terminal, but is not pining for the past.

Prior to working as a technical writer in various permanent positions at Jtec, Clear Technology, ICI (now Orica) and Telectronics, he was a biochemist working in the field of cell-surface proteins and cancer research at:

In these roles he co-authored several scientific papers.

His formal qualifications are a BSc from Macquarie University, an MAppSc from the University of Technology, Sydney, and a Diploma in Biblical Studies with First Class Honours from Moore Theological College.

He is a current member of the Australian Society for Technical Communication and a long lapsed member of MENSA. He held an Australian Federal Police security clearance in 1999-2000.
